We have one hope before this God who is awful and majestic. And it is to hide our unholiness under the blood of Christ, and to hide in the shadow of the Cross.
About three months later Judah was told, “Tamar your daughter-in-law has been immoral. Moreover, she is pregnant by immorality.” And Judah said, “Bring her out, and let her be burned.” – Genesis 38:24
There is a reason why God as the creator of the heavens and the earth is so prominent in the Scriptures. God wants us to look at Him as creator and stand back and gasp and think if He’s so great, by what we see of Him in creation, then he wants us to come to the conclusion that blessed be that man whose faith rests in that God!
God does not play to the relativistic thinking of our day. God does have absolutes. There is only one opinion that matters and it’s not our opinion, it’s God’s. God knows what pleases Him and He says there is one way to please me, and that is “if you would come to Me, you draw near to me with faith.”
Faith is the firm assurance and conviction that the invisible God is who He says He is and will do what He has promised to do.
