Psalm 75 (Our Thanks We Offer)

Words: David P. Regier
Tune: Praise to The Lord
“Lobe Den Herren”
[Key: D]

Verse 1
Our thanks we offer, O God
For Your name is upon us.
Telling Your wonderful works
How Your mercies dwell on us.
“At My set time,
I in My nature sublime,
Judge all the earth by My promise.”

Verse 2
“Earth and all those
Who dwell in it shall shake now before Me
I Have established its pillars
And steady its mooring.
Who then shall boast
Against the heavenly hosts?
Quiet your pride now before Me!”

Verse 3
Unto the ends of the earth,
Man has sought acclamation,
God is the Judge who must humble
Or bring exaltation.
Yahweh the Lord,
Onto the wicked has poured
His cup of wrath as libation.

Verse 4
But as for me, I will
Tell of His wonders forever,
Praising the Lord God
With singing shall be my endeavor.
He shall cast down
From ev’ry rival his crown,
And raise the righteous forever.

Psalm 57 (Show Your Mercies)

Words: David Regier
Tune: Take My Life and Let it Be
“Hendon” by Cesar Malan 1827
[Key: Db]

Verse 1
Show Your mercies, Lord, to me;
For my soul to You would flee.
From my trouble, refuge bring
In the shadow of Your wing,
In the shadow of Your wing.

Verse 2
I call out to God Most High,
Who works all His wise design.
He, from heaven, hearing me,
Saves me from the enemy,
Saves me from the enemy.

Verse 3
In the lion’s den I wait;
They would slay me in their hate.
They destroy me with their words,
With their tongues as sharpened swords,
With their tongues as sharpened swords.

Verse 4
Let Your glory and Your worth,
Lord, be praised in all the earth.
Deadly snares all meant for me
Have consumed my enemy,
Have consumed my enemy.

Verse 5
Let my faithful heart, now sing
Praises to my God, my King!
Rise, my glory, harp and lyre,
Wake the dawn with morning fire,
Wake the dawn with morning fire!

Verse 6
Let a song of praise now rise;
How Thy mercies fill the skies!
Let this joyful song be raised
From the earth in grateful praise
From the earth in grateful praise.

Psalm 55 (O God, Please Listen)

Words: Sing, Psalms 2003 The Free Church of Scotland
Music: Psalm 22 (My God, My God)
Irish Melody- Kingsfold
[Key: Db Minor]

Verse 1
O God, please listen to my prayer;
Do not ignore my plea.
My anxious thoughts make me distraught;
O hear and answer me.
I’m troubled by the voice of foes,
By their malicious stare;
For they bring suf-fer-ing to me
Their hatred I must bear.

Verse 2
Within me anguish grips my heart;
Death’s terrors have come near.
I tremble and am terrified;
I’m overwhelmed by fear.
“O that I, like a dove, had wings!
Then I would fly away
And be at rest; I’d flee from here
And in the desert stay.

Verse 3
“Then would I to my hiding-place
For refuge take my flight,
Far from the raging of the storm
And from the tempest’s might.”
Distressed, I cry— He hears my voice.
He ransoms me unharmed
From battle waged by many foes,
Who are against me armed.

Verse 4
My God, enthroned for evermore,
Will hear and will repay
Those men who have no fear of God
And never change their way.
O cast your burden on the LORD,
And he will care for you;
He’ll never let the righteous fall,
But bring him safely through.

Psalm 24 (The Earth is The Lord’s)

Words: David P. Regier
Tune: O Worship the King
“Lyons” by Joseph Martin Krause 1756-1792
[Key: D]

Verse 1
The earth is the Lord’s and all it contains;
The world, and all those who dwell on its plains.
Upon the dark seas, its foundations are laid;
And deep in the rivers, its moorings are stayed.

Verse 2
And who shall ascend the hill of the Lord,
Or who, then, shall stand at rest in His ward:
The one with clean hands and the purest of heart,
Who speaks not in vain, nor a falsehood imparts.

Verse 3
This one shall from God His blessing receive;
And righteousness be His gracious reprieve.
To all generations who seek for His face,
Almighty Jehovah shall pour out His grace.

Verse 4
O rise, ancient doors! Be lifted, ye gates!
And welcome your King; prepare His estate!
And who is this King, in His glorious might?
The Lord firm in battle and strong in the fight.

Verse 5
O lift up your heads, ye portals of old!
And welcome your King; His glory behold!
And who can it be, this our glorious King?
The Lord God of hosts, whose great glory we sing!

Psalm 3 (Lifter of My Head)

Words: Dan Totten
Tune: Be Still my Soul
“Finlanda” by Jean Sibelius 1899
[Key: C]

Verse 1
O LORD, my foes have risen up against me,
Proclaiming that there is no help in God.
But this I know: You are a Shield about me,
My Glory, and the Lifter of my head.
But this I know: You are a Shield about me,
My Glory, and the Lifter of my head.

Verse 2
I cry aloud to God who is Salvation.
I hear Him answer from His holy hill.
I sleep in peace, for God the LORD sustains me;
I will not fear, though thousands would assail.
I sleep in peace, for God the LORD sustains me;
I will not fear, though thousands would assail.

Verse 3
Arise, O LORD, my God Who does deliver;
Strike down my enemies as in the past,
For unto You, O LORD, belongs salvation.
May blessing on Your people ever rest.
For unto You, O LORD, belongs salvation.
May blessing on Your people ever rest.

Verse 4
The Son of Man, rejected and forsaken,
Suffered unjustly at the hands of men.
So let us arm ourselves with this same purpose—
Embrace His will, entrust our souls to Him.
So let us arm ourselves with this same purpose—
Embrace His will, entrust our souls to Him.

(Taken from Psalm 3, Isaiah 53:3; I Peter 3:18; 4:1,19)

Psalm 22 (My God, My God)

Piano Only

With Vocals

Based on Psalm 22
Music: Irish Melody- Kingsfold
[Key: Db Minor]

Verse 1
My God, my God,
O why Have you forsaken me?
O why are you so far from Giving help
And from my groaning cry?
By day and night, my God, I call;
Your answer still delays.
And yet you are the Holy One
Who dwells in Israel’s praise.

Verse 2
Our fathers put their trust in you;
From you their rescue came.
They begged you and you set them free;
They were not put to shame.
But as for me, I am a worm
And not a man at all.
To men I am despised and base;
Their scornings on me fall.

Verse 3
All those who look at me will
laugh and cast reproach at me.
Their mouths they open wide;
They wag their heads in mockery:
“The Lord was his reliance once;
Now see what God will send.
Yes, let God rise and set him free,
This man that was his friend.”

Verse 4
You took me from my mothers womb
To safety at the breast.
Since birth when I was cast on you,
In you, my God, I rest.
When I proclaim my praise of you,
Then all the church will hear,
And I will pay my vows in full
Where men hold him in fear.

How Firm a Foundation

Kirkham 1787
[Key: E]

Verse 1
How firm a foundation ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent word!
What more can He say than to you He has said,
You who unto Jesus for refuge have fled?

Verse 2
In every condition, in sickness, in health,
In poverty’s vale, or abounding in wealth;
At home, or abroad, on the land, on the sea,
“As your days may demand, shall your strength ever be.”
[Deuteronomy 33:25]

Verse 3
“Fear not, I am with you; O be not dismayed;
For I am your God, and will still give you aid;
I’ll strengthen you, help you, and cause you to stand,
Upheld by My righteous omnipotent hand.”
[Isaiah 41:10]

Verse 4
“When through the deep waters I call you to go,
The rivers of woe shall not you overflow;
For I will be with you, your troubles to bless,
And sanctify to you your deepest distress.”
[Isaiah 43:2, 2 Corinthians 12:9]

Verse 5
“When through fiery trials your pathway shall lie,
My grace all-sufficient shall be your supply;
The flame shall not hurt you; I only design
Your dross to consume, and your gold to refine.”
[Isaiah 43:2, 2 Corinthians 12:9]

Verse 6
“Even down to old age, all My people shall prove
My sovereign, eternal, unchangeable love;
And when graying hairs shall their temples adorn,
Like lambs they shall still in my bosom be born.”
[Isaiah 46:4]

Verse 7
“The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose,
I will not, I will not desert to his foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I’ll never, no never, no never forsake.”
[Hebrews 13:5]

Matthew 6:33, 4:4, 7:7
King James Version

Verse 1
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God
And His righteousness,
And all these things
Shall be added unto you,
Allelu, alleluia.

Verse 2
Man shall not live by bread alone,
But by every word
That proceeds from the mouth of God
Allelu, alleluia.

Verse 3
Ask, and it shall be given unto you.
Seek and ye shall find.
Knock and it shall be opened unto you
Allelu, alleluia.

Psalm 46 (Lord of Hosts)

Shane & Shane
(Third verse added by GCC)
[Key: Gm]

Verse 1
O come, behold the works of God
The nations at His feet
He breaks the bow and bends the spear
And tells the wars to cease
O, Mighty One of Israel
You are on our side
We walk by faith in
God Who burns the chariots with fire

Chorus
Lord of Hosts, You’re with us
With us in the fire
With us as a shelter
With us in the storm
You will lead us
Through the fiercest battle
O, where else would we go
But with the Lord of Hosts?

Verse 2
O, God of Jacob, fierce and great
You lift Your voice to speak.
The earth, it bows and all the mountains
Move into the sea.
O, Lord, You know the hearts of men
And still You let them live.
O, God, Who makes the mountains melt
Come wrestle us and win!

Chorus
Lord of Hosts, You’re with us
With us in the fire
With us as a shelter
With us in the storm
You will lead us
Through the fiercest battle
O, where else would we go
But with the Lord of Hosts?

Verse 3
Our God, He is the Lord Most High
Our refuge and our strength
A very present help in times of trouble, our defense.
He said, “Be still and know that I am God and I am near,
Exalted in the nations” Therefore we will have no fear!

Chorus
Lord of Hosts, You’re with us
With us in the fire
With us as a shelter
With us in the storm
You will lead us
Through the fiercest battle
O, where else would we go
But with the Lord of Hosts?

Bridge
Though the oceans roar
You are the Lord of all
The One Who calms the wind and waves
And makes my heart be still
Though the earth gives way
The mountains move into the sea
The nations rage
I know my God is in control.

Chorus
Lord of Hosts, You’re with us
With us in the fire
With us as a shelter
With us in the storm
You will lead us
Through the fiercest battle
O, where else would we go
But with the Lord of Hosts?
