Philippians 1 (I Thank My God)

**Please note the timing change at the end. The last line is drawn out**

Philippians 1:3-6
KJV

Verse 1
I thank my God
Upon every remembrance of you,
Always in every prayer of mine
For you all, making request with joy,
For your fellowship in the gospel
From the first day until now;
I thank my God
Upon every remembrance of you.

Being confident of this very thing,
That He which hath begun a good work in you
Will perform it until the day,
The day of Jesus Christ!

Verse 2
[*Wait for Transition*]

I thank my God
Upon every remembrance of you,
Always in every prayer of mine
For you all, making request with joy,
For your fellowship in the gospel
From the first day until now;
I thank my God

[*Draw out last notes*]
Upon e—v’ry- re-mem-brance— of you.

Is He Worthy?

Andrew Peterson,  Ben Shive
[Key: A]

Verse 1

[Men] Do you feel the world is broken?
     [Ladies] We do.

[Men] Do you feel the shadows deepen?
      [Ladies] We do.

[Men] But do you know that all the dark won’t
              Stop the light from getting through?
     [Ladies] We do.

[Men] Do you wish that you could
             See it all made new?
     [Ladies] We do.

Verse 2

[Ladies] Is all creation groaning?
        [Men] It is.

[Ladies] Is a new creation coming?
      [Men] It is.

[Ladies] Is the glory of the Lord to be
               The light within our midst?
      [Men] It is.

[Ladies] Is it good that we remind
                   Ourselves of this?
     [Men] It is.

Chorus
Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave!
He is David’s root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave.

Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory,
Is He worthy of this?
He is.

Verse 3

[Men] Does the Father truly love us?
     [Ladies] He does.

[Men] Does the Spirit move among us?
     [Ladies] He does.

[Men] And does Jesus, our Messiah
              Hold forever those He loves?
     [Ladies] He does.

[Men] Does our God intend
               To dwell again with us?
     [Ladies] He does.

Chorus
Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole?
Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?
The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave!
He is David’s root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave
From every people and tribe,
Every nation and tongue,
He has made us a kingdom and priests to God
To reign with the Son!

Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Is He worthy of this?

He is! He is!

Is He worthy? Is He worthy?

He is! He is!

He is worthy! He is worthy!
He is!

Jesus Shall Reign

Isaac Watts, 1719
Inspired by Psalm 72
[Key: B]

Verse 1
Jesus shall reign where’er the sun
Does its successive journeys run,
His kingdom stretch from shore to shore,
‘Till moons shall wax and wane no more.

Verse 2
Behold the nations great with sin,
Numbers untold that He will win.
From east to west the peoples meet
To bend in worship at His feet.

Verse 3
To Him shall endless prayer be made,
And praises throng to crown His head.
His name like sweet perfume shall rise
With every morning sacrifice.

Verse 4
Great God, whose universal sway
The known and unknown worlds obey,
Now give the kingdom to Thy Son
Extend His power, exalt His throne.

Verse 5
As rain on meadows newly mown,
So shall He send His influence down;
His grace on fainting souls distills,
Like heav’nly dew on thirsty hills.

Verse 6
The heathen lands, that lie beneath
The shades of overspreading death,
Revive at His first dawning light
And deserts blossom at the sight.

Go Forth and Tell

James E. Seddon, 1964
[Key: C]

Verse 1
Go forth and tell! O Church of God, awake!
God’s saving news to all the nations take.
Proclaim Christ Jesus, Savior, Lord, and King,
That all the world His worthy praise may sing.

Verse 2
Go forth and tell! God offers life to all;
The Lord makes rich all who on Him shall call.
How shall they call if they have never heard
The gracious invitation of His Word?

Verse 3
Go forth and tell! Men still in darkness lie;
In wealth or want, in sin they live and die.
Give us, O Lord, concern of heart and mind-
A love like Yours which cares for all mankind.

Verse 4
Go forth and tell! Christ charges us to go.
All power is His; from Him the blessings flow.
Live out your life as Christ your Lord shall choose;
Your ransomed powers for His sole glory use.

Verse 5
Go forth and tell! O Church of God, arise!
Go in the strength which Christ your Lord supplies.
Go ’til all nations His great name adore,
And serve Him Lord and King forever more.

The Master Has Come

Sarah Doudney, 1811-1920
[Key: Eb]

Verse 1
The Master has come
And He calls us to follow
The track of His footprints
He leaves on our way;

Far over the mountain
And through the deep hollow,
The path leads us on
To the eternal day:

The Master has called us,
The children who fear Him,
Who march ‘neath Christ’s banner
His own little flock;

We love Him and seek Him,
We long to be near Him,
And rest in the strength
Of this unyielding Rock.

Verse 2
The Master has called us
To walk in the valleys,
The shadow of death
And the evil so near;

But God who does lead us
To feed in green meadows,
We hear His rejoicing
That brings us to cheer.

The Master has called us,
We run hard to hold Him,
And cling to our Shepherd,
Who stands as our King;

Defends us and helps us,
Our hearts now adoring,
We’ll pass thru this valley
And shout as we sing.

Verse 3
The Master has called us
To live for His glory,
To tell of His mercy
And wonderful grace;

Salvation, revelation,
Redeemed is our story,
He seeks us and finds us
And quickens our pace.

The Master has called us
And love is His banner,
The sheep of His pasture
The chosen in Him;

Our bondage is broken,
Our enemies fallen,
We’ll march on victorious
Thru God we shall win.

Verse 4
The Master has called us
The road may be dreary;
And dangers and demons
May form their attack;

Press onward, look upward
Through much tribulation,
We follow the Savior
And cannot turn back.

The Master has called us
A people most favored,
To ever move forward
And never retreat;

So work on dear brethren
Till we rest from labor,
When we’re in the presence
Of Jesus so sweet.

We Rest on Thee

Words: Edith Cherry, 1895
Music: “Finlanda” by Jean Sibelius 1899
[Key: C]

Verse 1
We rest on Thee our Shield and our Defender!
We go not forth alone against the foe;
Strong in Thy strength, safe in Thy keeping tender,
We rest on Thee, and in Thy Name we go,
Strong in Thy strength, safe in Thy keeping tender,
We rest on Thee, and in Thy Name we go.

Verse 2
Yea, in Thy Name, O Captain of Salvation!
In Thy dear Name, all other names above:
Jesus our Righteousness, our Sure Foundation,
Our Prince of Glory and our King of Love,
Jesus our Righteousness, our Sure Foundation,
Our Prince of Glory and our King of Love.

Verse 3
We go in faith, our own great weakness feeling,
And needing more each day Thy Grace to know:
Yet from our hearts a song of triumph pealing,
We rest on Thee, and in Thy Name we go,
Yet from our hearts a song of triumph pealing,
We rest on Thee, and in Thy name we go.

Verse 4
We rest on Thee, our Shield and our Defender!
Thine is the battle, thine shall be the praise
When passing through the gates of pearly splendor,
Victors, we rest with Thee through endless days,
When passing through the gates of pearly splendor,
Victors, we rest with Thee through endless days.

What Grace is Mine

Kieth and Kristyn Getty
Music: Traditional Irish melody: Londonderry Air
Arranged Rob Mathes
[Key: A]

Verse 1
What grace is mine, that He who dwells in endless light
Called through the night to find my distant soul.
And from His scars poured mercy that would plead for me
That I might live and in His Name be known.

Chorus
So I will go wherever He is calling me;
I lose my life to find my life in Him.
I give my all to gain the hope that never dies;
I bow my heart, take up my cross, and follow Him.

Verse 2
What grace is mine, to know His breath alive in me;
beneath His wings my weary soul may soar.
All fear can flee for death’s dark night is overcome;
My Savior lives and reign forever more.

Chorus
So I will go where ever He is calling me;
I lose my life to find my life in Him.
I give my all to gain the hope that never dies;
I bow my heart, take up my cross, and follow Him.

By Faith

Keith and Kristyn Getty
[Key: Ab]

Verse 1
By faith we see the hand of God
In the light of creation’s grand design,
In the lives of those who prove His faithfulness,
Who walk by faith and not by sight.

Verse 2
By faith our fathers roamed the earth
With the power of His promise in their hearts,
Of a holy city built by God’s own hand,
A place where peace and justice reign.

Chorus
We will stand as children of the promise’
We will fix our eyes on Him, our soul’s reward.
Till the race is finished and the work is done,
We’ll walk by faith and not by sight.

Verse 3
By faith the prophets saw a day
When the longed for Messiah would appear
With the power to break the chains of sin and death
And rise triumphant from the grave.

Verse 4
By faith the church was called to go
In the power of the Spirit to the lost
To deliver captives and to preach good news
In every corner of the earth.

Chorus
We will stand as children of the promise’
We will fix our eyes on Him, our soul’s reward.
Till the race is finished and the work is done,
We’ll walk by faith and not by sight.

Verse 5
By faith this mountain shall be moved
And the power of the gospel shall prevail,
For we know in Christ all things are possible
For all who call upon His Name.

Chorus
We will stand as children of the promise’
We will fix our eyes on Him, our soul’s reward.
Till the race is finished and the work is done,
We’ll walk by faith and not by sight.

We will stand as children of the promise’
We will fix our eyes on Him, our soul’s reward.
Till the race is finished and the work is done,
We’ll walk by faith and not by sight.

Facing a Task Unfinished

Keith Getty, Kristyn Getty,
Ed Cash and Fionán de Barra
[Key: A]

Verse 1
Facing a task unfinished
That drives us to our knees
A need that, undiminished
Rebukes our slothful ease
We, who rejoice to know Thee
Renew before Thy throne
The solemn pledge we owe Thee
To go and make Thee known

Verse 2
Where other lords beside Thee
Hold their unhindered sway
Where forces that defied Thee
Defy Thee still today
With none to heed their crying
For life, and love, and light
Unnumbered souls are dying
And pass into the night

Chorus
We go to all the world
With kingdom hope unfurled
No other name has power to save
But Jesus Christ The Lord.

Verse 3
We bear the torch that flaming
Fell from the hands of those
Who gave their lives proclaiming
That Jesus died and rose
Ours is the same commission
The same glad message ours
Fired by the same ambition
To Thee we yield our powers

Chorus
We go to all the world
With kingdom hope unfurled
No other name has power to save
But Jesus Christ The Lord.

Verse 4
O Father who sustained them
O Spirit who inspired
Savior, whose love constrained them
To toil with zeal untired
From cowardice defend us
From lethargy awake!
Forth on Thine errands send us
To labour for Thy sake

Chorus
We go to all the world
With kingdom hope unfurled
No other name has power to save
But Jesus Christ The Lord.

We go to all the world
With kingdom hope unfurled
No other name has power to save
But Jesus Christ The Lord

Lead On, O King Eternal

Ernest W. Shurtleff, 1888
[Key: A]

Verse 1
Lead on, O King eternal,
The day of march has come;
Henceforth in fields of conquest
Thy tents shall be our home.
Through days of preparation
Thy grace has made us strong;
And now, O King eternal,
We lift our battle song.

Verse 2
Lead on, O King eternal,
Till sin’s fierce war shall cease,
And holiness shall whisper
The sweet amen of peace.
For not with swords’ loud clashing,
Nor roll of stirring drums;
But deeds of love and mercy
The heavenly kingdom comes.

Verse 3
Lead on, O King eternal,
We follow, not with fears,
For gladness breaks like morning
Where’er Thy face appears.
Thy cross is lifted over us,
We journey in its light;
The crown awaits the conquest;
Lead on, O God of might.
